What are the most eminent NASCAR drivers?

Our team has set out to discover the most eminent NASCAR drivers in history.

Dick Trickle

He was one of the most successful short-track drivers of his time. During his 40-year career, he won over 1000 races. His winning streak began in 1963 and ended in 2001. With over 1000 victories in his career, Trickle is a legend in the racing world. He started racing in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series in 1972 and had his best performance in 1979 when he placed second at the Daytona 500.

Trickle retired from racing in 2002 but stayed involved in the sport as a broadcaster until he died in 2013.

Bobby Allison

Another three-time Winston Cup champion, Allison is one of the most decorated drivers in NASCAR history. He began his career back when it was still called stock cars and quickly became a fan favorite for being so popular among racers alike with his easy-going yet aggressive style on track or off! Allison won the Daytona 500 in 1978 and again in 1982. He also won the Talladega 500 three times.

Allison’s career was cut short by a crash at Pocono Raceway in 1988, but he remains one of the most beloved drivers in NASCAR history.

Darrell Waltrip

Waltrip is a three-time Winston Cup champion and also one of the more prosperous drivers in NASCAR history. He’s also one of the most popular, thanks to his outgoing personality and gift for gab. Waltrip became known as ‘Jaws’ for his propensity to jaw with other drivers on the track, and he was never afraid to speak his mind off it, either.

Waltrip’s career began in 1972 when he made his Winston Cup debut. He won his first race the following year, and by 1979, he had captured his first Winston Cup title. Waltrip went on to win the title two more times, in 1981 and 1982. In 2000, Waltrip retired from racing but has stayed engaged in the sport as a broadcaster. In 2012, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Richard Petty

No NASCAR driver has more championships than Petty, making him a true legend of the sport. He won a record 200 races throughout his career, including a stunning 27 in 1967 – a single-season record that still stands today. Petty not only holds the record for most NASCAR championships but an incredible seven wins.

Petty is also a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

These are just a few of the most eminent NASCAR drivers in history. Many other great drivers have left their mark on the sport. But these four men are true legends of the racing world!
